Mr. Arvind Nanda - Profile
Arvind Nanda is the founder and Chief Executive of Growth Enablers and has built value adding associations with several Indian and Global companies to support their business growth endeavors.

He has held senior management positions in reputed companies in the course of over 35 years of experience in Automotive, Aviation & Engineering industry, successfully leading teams and organizations to achieve breakthrough improvements in operations and business results.

He served as the Chief Executive and Joint Managing Director on the Board of Jessop & Company at Kolkata in 2008 -2009. Initiatives included re-engineering of the business processes, re-designing of financial plans and efficient management of resources – leading to a sharp turnaround and profitability of the privatized ailing PSU.

He was employed with Anand Automotive Systems from 2003 till 2008, initially as the Group Vice President for Corporate Strategy & Deployment and later as Chief Executive for Engine Bearings business at Gabriel India. The assignment involved development and deployment of business strategy across all Group companies entailing close interaction with global JV partners like Dana Corporation, Arvin Meritor, Federal Mogul, Mahle, Behr, Haldex etc.

From 1998 till 2003 he served as the Joint Managing Director on the Board of Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Ltd. at Bangalore, a company under the ISMT Group of Pune. The endeavors involved setting up facilities and processes to indigenize the aircraft manufacture consequent to the failure of CKD set supplies from the Italian collaborators. This could be achieved in a record period of 18 months, when the first indigenously manufactured aircraft was certified by DGCA. Subsequent focus to acquire sustainable business involved marketing of aircraft and development of aero structures and services for global majors.

Arvind joined ISMT Ltd at Pune in 1993 as Vice President Operations. Break-through improvements were brought about in terms of QCD, leading to significantly higher yields, lower costs and better delivery performance. These improvements in operating efficiencies could lead to higher margins in an increasingly competitive market for the products.

He served as General Manager at Jay Engineering Works in Kolkata from 1988 until 1993. It being a legacy enterprise with a 2500 strong unionized work force, corrections had to be applied to a highly adverse cost structure for improving contribution from operations. Major improvements and initiatives were carried out in restructuring of operations and bringing in flexibility to meet dynamic market demands. Emphasis was on change management, team building and leadership.

Arvind initiated his professional career with Punjab Tractors in 1976. It provided a perfect foundation to learn and apply the basic engineering practices at a project stage in a manufacturing environment. Tenure of 12 years in the formative period of the Company offered unparalleled opportunities to participate in the development process and to make significant contributions as a member of the core team. Exposure to the Japanese work practices consequent to collaboration with Mazda Corporation led to initiating and driving improvements in work methods and Quality, better acceptance of products & a steady improvement in the market share.

Arvind is a graduate in Production Engineering from PEC, Chandigarh and an alumnus of IIM Bangalore. He is a certified assessor of the EFQM Business Excellence Model and has undergone a certificate program on TQM by AOTS Japan. He won the First Prize in National Competition of Young Managers held by All India Management Association in 1985. He has been a member on the Civil Aviation Advisory Board of Govt. of India and on the CII’s National Committee on Civil Aviation. He has held professional membership of National Institute of Industrial Engineering & National Institute of Personnel Mgmt.

Arvind presently resides in India with his wife Poonam who is a HR consultant and a trainer in soft skills. Their daughter Mahima is an engineer and an MBA from Indian School of Business. She recently got married and works for E & Y at Mumbai. Their son Mukul is a graduate and is currently undergoing a post grad course in Automobile Designing from Dilip Chhabria’s institute in Pune. Arvind enjoys travelling and meeting people, and is passionate about the game of cricket.
